The EBC 583是一款 5.25"嵌入式主板，支持不同频率的VIA Eden™ 或 V4 bus VIA C7 处理器，L2 caches, 较VIA C3 家族，性能提高了40% 。
搭配VIA CN700 和 8327R+ 芯片组, EBC 583 最大支持 1GB主流非缓存non-ECC DDR 333/400 。低功耗的南桥芯片 8327R+支持1个标准的32-bit/33MHz PCI 插槽,并口, 44-pin IDE 连接器,闪存卡, 和多种I/O接口，包括串口、USB 2.0等。
EBC 583 与 EBC 563 体积可以兼容。此外，两者的主要构成成分相同，与现有机箱刚好匹配。 为保证软件的兼容性，EBC 583 的以太网控制器保留初始RTL8139C+ RoHS 版本和设计。
